Jitin Singla

I am an Assistant Professor jointly appointed in the Departments of Biosciences and Bioengineering and Computer Science and Engineering at the IIT Roorkee. My research group focuses on developing computational frameworks that bridge biology, data science, and engineering. Specifically, we address problems in Computational biology and AI-driven bioimage analysis for healthcare diagnostics.

Our current projects explore variety of topics such as Computational characterization of cellular architecture, AI-based jaundice detection, ECG analysis and AI-models for Sanskrit. 

I also serve as a Scientific Advisor to the World in a Cell project under the World Building Media Lab, where we contribute to data-driven visualization and modeling of cellular systems.

Before joining IIT Roorkee, I earned my Ph.D. in Computational Biology and Bioinformatics and M.S. in Computer Science (High-Performance Computing and Simulation) from the University of Southern California (USC), Los Angeles, and my B.Tech. in Computer Science from IIT Roorkee.
