My research primarily focuses on using computational methods to understand the molecular and mesoscale architecture of cells. My lab works in the field of computational biology, focusing on computational structural biology, computational analysis of cryo-electron tomograms and Soft X-ray tomograms, ArtScience, Applied Machine and Deep Learning.
We are also involved with the World Building Media Lab at Cinema School at USC, to create a World in a Cell Virtual Reality experience of the inner workings of the pancreatic beta-cell. This project brings together artists, engineers, scientists, and doctors to create immersive experiences of the cellular world to better understand it.
